Architectural accessibility

Building where the Forum will take place: Odeska 1, 15-406 Białystok. The new building of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic was designed from the outset to be a place accessible and welcoming to persons with disabilities. It received the Golden Statuette for the best public utility building awarded by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians, as well as the Grand Prix of the President of the Office of Technical Inspection as a “Facility Accessible to Persons with Disabilities.” Visitors with disabilities can rely on the support of the Opera’s staff and audience services, who are always ready to provide assistance.

Building: Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego 1, 15-888 in Białystok. In front of the main entrance, there are two blue-marked parking spaces for persons with disabilities. There are six steps with handrails fitted to the building. The main doors are rotary. On the right side of the entrance, there is a lift for wheelchair users and a call bell. The lift connects to the office level, with automatic doors adapted for persons with disabilities. On the ground floor of the main hall on the left side, there is a designated service point for persons with disabilities. Adjacent to the main hall, there is a corridor with a contact point for persons with disabilities. Staff trained in sign language work at the General Registry in room 022. At the end of the corridor on the right side, there is a marked bathroom with facilities for persons with disabilities, equipped with an alarm signal. The main hall includes lifts, including one with a wide door adapted for wheelchairs. Both lifts provide voice communication, with floor selection keys marked in Braille and access to all floors. Assistance dogs and guide dogs are permitted. An induction loop is provided in the building.

Communication and Information Availability

The website of the Public Information Bulletin of the Marshal’s Office contains information on the scope of the Province’s activities, including: The Parliament of Podlaskie Voivodship, the Executive Board of Podlaskie Voivodship and the organisation of the Marshal’s Office. The addresses of the pages allowing easy and instant contact with the Office have been made available.

The website contains contact details: President of the Parliament of Podlaskie Voivodship members of the Executive Board of Podlaskie Voivodship, contacts with organisational units of the Marshal’s Office. The Office shall ensure that cases can be dealt with online. The Public Information Bulletin website contains a dedicated section on Online handling of official cases, with basic information, information sheets, citizen-friendly instructions, and web addresses.

People with special needs can communicate by telephone, correspondence, SMS, or MMS to 573 442 704 – accessibility coordinator. Provision is also made for the use of a sign interpreter, in person, upon notification within 2 working days. The Office provides day-to-day assistance with an interpreter and a guide. Designated locations for direct contact with customers in the buildings: ul. Poleska 89, ul. Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego 1, and ul. Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej 14 in Białystok were equipped with inductive loops.
