He has nearly 30 years of experience in managing large business entities, including banks and financial institutions. Currently, at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, he supervises the area of strategic management and finance.
He started his career in 1996-1997 as a member of the Supervisory Board of Pomorski Bank Kredytowy in Szczecin. From 2004 to 2006, he was Vice-President of BGK, responsible for the commercial activities of the bank, cooperation with commercial clients and local governments, and the management of the branch network.
From 2009 to 2016 he was the Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PKO Bank Polski and the Chairman of the Audit Committee of this bank. At the same time, from January 2007 to April 2024, he served as treasurer of the Capital City of Warsaw.
Mirosław Czekaj, PhD., is a professor at the College of Business Sciences at the Warsaw School of Economics, where he conducts research in public finances, including budget management and financial reporting. He is the author of publications about this publication in national and archival publications.
