
Dr. Daniel Boćkowski – Member of the Po.Int. Foundation Council. Historian, specialist in international security. Professor at the University of Białystok and the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw; Head of the Department of International Security at the Institute of History and Political Science of the University of Białystok, employee of the Department of Eastern European History and Studies on the Empires of the 19th and 20th Centuries at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Editor-in-chief of “Studies in the History of Russia and Central and Eastern Europe”; member of the Program Council of the Olsztyn African Studies Scientific Series; member of the Polish Political Science Association and the Polish Association for International Studies. Since 1999, he has held a PhD in history, based on his thesis “Care provided by Polish institutions to citizens of the Republic of Poland in the USSR (1941-1943)”, defended at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw; since 2006, he has held a postdoctoral degree in humanities, based on his thesis “Together forever. The Białystok and Łomża regions in Soviet policy during World War II (September 1939 - August 1944)”, also at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
