Dr Dariusz Surowik is the author of numerous scientific papers, including many publications in journals listed in ERIH (The European Reference Index for the Humanities). He has participated with papers in over 50 conferences in Poland and abroad, including in Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, France, Switzerland and Belarus. He is a member of the Programme and Organising Committees of national conferences, including eight editions of the Knowledge Exploration and Representation Technologies conference. He chaired the scientific session at the 6th European Congress of Analytical Philosophy. Since 2005, he has been the editorial secretary of the journal Studies in Logic, Grammar and Rhetoric. He has also edited several special issues of this journal. He was a scholarship holder at the International Centre for Computational Logic (Technische Universität Dresden, 2005). He has extensive publishing experience. He is a member of international scientific societies: the American Mathematical Society, The Association for Symbolic Logic and the European Network for Social Intelligence (SINTELNET). He is a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. He has been involved in four research grants.

He has been associated with the Lomza Academy (formerly the State Higher School of Information Technology and Entrepreneurship, as well as the Academy of Applied Sciences) since 2004 as a lecturer, including in 2012-2017 as the Rector's Plenipotentiary for Science and International Cooperation, and since 2017, he has been the Rector of the same university. He is an active member of national scientific societies: the Polish Society for Logic and Philosophy of Science (member of the Board in 2009-2012, Chairman of the Audit Committee 2012-present), Lomza Scientific Society named after Wagow, ‘FILOMATH’ Foundation for the Development of Mathematics and Computer Science (member of the Audit Committee), Polish Computer Society. Awarded the Silver Cross of Merit by the President of the Republic of Poland. In 2017-2020, he served as Vice-President of the Conference of Rectors of Public Vocational Universities. From 2020 to May 2023, he is the President of the Conference of Rectors of Public Vocational Universities. In November 2022, he was appointed to the Advisory Board of the Polish Accreditation Committee.
