Professor at the Department of Tax Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Białystok since Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Faculty of Law of the University of Białystok and Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee for Academic Staff and Employment at the University of Białystok.
Since 2010, Prof. Mariusz Popławski has been associated with the International Centre for Public Finance and Tax Law Research (based at the Faculty of Law of the University of Białystok), where he currently serves as second vice-president. In 2012, he became a member of the Expert Team for Local Tax Law within the Scientific Network of Five Universities at the Faculty of Law of the University of Białystok. Since 2015, he has been an expert at the Centre for Czech and International Tax Law, as well as the main arbitrator at the Eastern Arbitration Court in Białystok. In 2021, he also joined the Central and Eastern European Society of Administrative Sciences based at the University of Győr (Hungary).
In 2005-2011, he was a member of the Regional Chamber of Auditors in Białystok. In 2014, he became a member of the General Tax Law Codification Commission appointed by the Prime Minister, a position he held until 2019. For 11 years, he was a member of the International Fiscal Association based in the Netherlands (until 2022), and in 2021-2023 he sat on the Scientific Council of the Ombudsman for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.
