Rafał Rudnicki – Deputy Mayor of the City of Białystok. He has held this position since 2015, making him one of the longest-serving deputies to the Mayor of Białystok, Tadeusz Truskolaski. He began his professional career in the media. In 1991, at the age of 18, he started working as an intern at the editorial office of "Kurier Podlaski," combining journalistic work with his high school education. For years, Rafał Rudnicki has been closely tied to the local government of Białystok. Before assuming the role of deputy mayor, he served as a city councilor on the Białystok City Council. As a councilor, he participated, among other things, in drafting the Białystok City Development Strategy for the years 2011–2020 plus. In 2014, he resigned from his membership in the Law and Justice party (PiS). Previously, he had served as the chairman of the PiS councilors' club in the Białystok City Council. As the Deputy Mayor of Białystok, he is currently responsible for overseeing the Białystok Public Transport Management Board, the Department of Culture, Promotion, and Sport, the Department of Architecture, the Department of Urban Planning, and the Center for Social Activity. In his local government activities, he handles matters related to the functioning of public transport, culture, city promotion, sports, spatial policy, and the social activity of residents. As a representative of the city authorities, he also participates in initiatives related to the development and promotion of Białystok, as well as the functioning of municipal cultural and sports institutions. In 2026, Rafał Rudnicki was among the local government officials honored with the Honorary Badge of Merit for Local Government. The distinction was presented during the celebrations of Local Government Day. Rafał Rudnicki is also involved in activities concerning sports development. In 2025, he was appointed by the Minister of Sport and Tourism to the Steering Committee working on the Development Strategy of Polish Sport until 2040.
