Krzysztof Czyżewski – a practitioner of ideas, writer, director and organiser of intercultural activities. Co-founder of the "Pogranicze" (The Borderlands") Foundation and the "Pogranicze – Arts, Cultures, Nations" Centre in Sejny. In 2011, together with the “Pogranicze” team, he opened the International Centre for Dialogue in Krasnogruda. He is the initiator of intercultural dialogue programmes in Central Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Indonesia, Bhutan, North Africa and other borderlands around the world. He has lectured at numerous universities in Europe and the USA; he is currently a professor at the University of Bologna and Rutgers University. He is the author of the books *The Path of the Borderland*, *The Line of Return: Notes from the Borderland* and *Miłosz: Connective Tissue*.
