03 DECLARATION OF EUROPE'S EASTERN BORDER REGIONS

Together with local authorities, the business community, and the academic sector, we call upon the European institutions to guarantee dedicated funding and a distinct legal status for challenging border regions in the European Union’s budget for the 2028–2034 period.

The Eastern border of the Union represents the frontline of European resilience – not a margin of risk. Every signature collected strengthens our joint mandate to be presented to decision-makers in Brussels, demanding permanent compensatory mechanisms, increased co-financing rates for projects (up to 85–95%), and strategic investments in dual-use infrastructure.

Europe’s stability and security begin at its Eastern border. Investing in the resilience of our regions is therefore a direct investment in a secure future for the entire European Union.
